Dr. H. C. Cristina Jarero Penichet is an international business leader, attorney, investor, and philanthropist with nearly three decades of experience spanning law, business, management, finance, real estate, and global investments. She is the Founder and CEO of Jarpen Global®, an international company with diversified business interests in real estate, global investments, import/export, consulting, and philanthropy. Throughout her career, she has led multidisciplinary teams, managed companies and assets across multiple industries, and executed complex, high-level transactions on an international scale, experience she deliberately places in service of advancing justice, defending human rights, protecting human dignity, and creating opportunities for women, children, and communities in need, while driving initiatives that create positive and lasting social impact.

Her commitment to social impact is hands-on and deeply personal. Throughout her career, Dr. Jarero Penichet has dedicated her time, professional expertise, and resources to a range of pro bono, philanthropic, and communityfocused initiatives. Among these efforts, she has provided pro bono legal assistance to women survivors of domestic violence seeking legal immigration status under the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), helping them pursue greater safety, stability, and independence. She serves on the boards of multiple nonprofit organizations and champions initiatives in philanthropy, environmental sustainability, and community well-being.

Her contributions to human rights and social leadership have been recognized through several distinctions, including the Doctor Honoris Causa in Human Rights, awarded by the Inter-American Institute for Research and Teaching in Human Rights (IAIRTHR-IIIDDH). The Institute works within the Inter-American Human Rights System and in collaboration with the International Human Rights Network in Geneva and the International Human Rights Network Europe in Brussels. She also received the Award for Defending Human Rights and Social Leadership from Fundación Cultural Forjadores de México, A.C., and the 2026 International Women’s Day Award, presented by the Center for Innovation in Human Rights, IAIRTH, Arellano & Asociados, and Fundación Miguel Alemán in recognition of women demonstrating leadership and a committed to creating meaningful, positive impact in society.

Admitted to practice law in both Mexico and New York, Dr. Jarero Penichet combines legal expertise with extensive executive and international business experience. Her academic background includes a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from ITESM School of Business, a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from New York University School of Law, and the General Management Program (G.M.P.) at Harvard Business School. This multidisciplinary foundation has shaped an approach to leadership that bridges law, business, finance, and strategic decision-making across industries and borders.

Dr. Jarero Penichet’s approach to leadership was shaped from an early age by two powerful influences: a multigenerational entrepreneurial family and the extraordinary example of the grandmother who raised her. Growing up in a family with deep business roots spanning commercial and residential real estate, investments, hospitality, import/export, construction, and related industries, she was exposed early to entrepreneurship, management, and strategic decision-making. At the same time, she had the privilege of being raised by and traveling extensively with her grandmother, Dr. María Cristina García Sancho Álvarez Tostado, the first woman neurosurgeon in Mexico and Latin America, whose pioneering career and lifelong commitment to service left a profound mark on her understanding of 
leadership and social responsibility.

Dr. García Sancho was a trailblazer who studied and collaborated with leading medical minds of her era, including Nobel laureate António Egas Moniz, contributed to significant medical advances, such as the perfection of the García-Sancho One-Step Bilateral Cordotomy, represented Mexico at international medical congresses, and devoted a substantial part of her career to pro bono medical service. The formative bond between grandmother and granddaughter instilled in Dr. Jarero Penichet the values that continue to guide her life and leadership: honesty, loyalty, resilience, gratitude, a strong sense of purpose and service, devotion to those she loves, and the discipline to care for mind, body, and spirit while persevering through adversity. Her grandmother’s example also left her with a deeply held conviction that women who break barriers open doors for generations that follow.

Dr. Jarero Penichet is also deeply proud of her family heritage and its centuries-old tradition of service. The Noble, Infanzonada, Ancient and Illustrious Solar de Tejada, of which she is Lady of Tejada, is a historic Spanish noble institution whose origins date back to 844, during the reign of Ramiro I, King of Asturias and León. It is the only institution of its kind to have endured since the ninth century, with its continuity recognized through successive Royal Charters to the present day. In 2016, the cultural heritage of the Solar de Tejada was officially designated an Intangible Cultural Heritage Asset in Spain, within the definition established by UNESCO’s 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding 
of the Intangible Cultural Heritage.

For her, however, legacy is defined not simply by what one inherits, but by what one chooses to contribute. She views leadership as both a privilege and a responsibility: to use experience, knowledge, and opportunity in service of others; to create pathways for those who follow; and to leave a positive and lasting impact on the communities and lives one touches.
