Gurpreet Kaur

Gurpreet Kaur is a licensed Certified Public Accountant with two decades of experience at the corporate accounting level. When Kaur joined Team AFN in 2014, AFN was licensed in 40 states and had approximately 400 Mortgage Loan Originators (MLOs) across the country. As AFN continued on its growth trajectory, and experienced changes in numbers of employees, branches, and loan volume, Kaur was there, as its Controller, managing more than 25 Team AFN Members and spearheading execution of day-to-day accounting, payroll management, year-end accounting and distribution of 1098s and 1099s, and much more. In July 2015 AFN celebrated its 1,000th employee milestone, and in August received recognition by Inc. Magazine as one of the fastest growing private companies, adding 330 personnel and achieving 341% growth. By mid-2016 AFN was licensed in 43 states with more than 500 Loan Officers in 114 community-based branches. A year-in-review snapshot of 2017 had AFN licensed in 45 states, with 133 branches, 745 MLOs, and a total funded volume of $4.5 billion. By 2018 AFN was licensed in all 50 states plus DC and continued its upward trend in all metrics. Kaur was key in overseeing Branch Accounting and effectively handling the volume of growth in all aspects of corporate finance.

Kaur understands mortgage finance, contributes to AFN’s growth, and is adept at ensuring liquidity and stability for the company, regardless of current industry trends. She is a hands-on leader who knows how to handle day-to-day issues and effectively guide her team while making effective financial decisions for the company.

Showing effective leadership as AFN took leaps and bounds in national expansion year-over-year, Kaur was a pillar of strength and stability for the AFN Accounting team as volume nearly doubled as AFN experienced aggressive growth from 2019 to 2020 with funded volume of more than $13 billion and held steady with numbers similar to 2020 in 2021. She served AFN well for several years as Controller and when the former Chief Financial Officer retired in the Summer of 2022, Kaur was the natural choice to fill the shoes of a seasoned professional who is renowned in the industry. Today, Kaur is deftly leading the charge as CFO as the company remains financially stable during a marked industry slowdown. AFN is grateful to have Kaur in the CFO position, leading the Accounting Department with fortitude and the strength in leadership the job demands.
